IEEE Bombay Section, through its power engineering Society and Industry and Application Society Chapter introduced an unique annual activity in 2002 "Creating awareness amongst students".

In this programme, groups of students from engineering or science colleges give the presentation to students of 8th to 10th standards, on the selected topics of technology which influence day to day life of urban and rural population. Prizes are given for the best performance. Last year 80 groups with 350 plus students participated in the contest and educated 20,000 students from Pune, Ahemdnagar, Nashik, Sangli, Nagpur and Bombay Nagar.
