The Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a non-profit organization, is the world’s leading professional association for the advancement of technology.
IEEE membership helps support the IEEE mission of promoting the engineering profession for the benefit of humanity and the profession. Membership also enables
affordable student membership, funds university program accreditation and helps introduce technology careers to young people around the world. The IEEE promotes
the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing and applying knowledge about electronics and information technologies and sciences for the benefit
of humanity and the profession. In 1988, PICT was granted membership by IEEE and since then our college activities under the membership of IEEE are being continued
with renewed vigour and emulation, year on year. So much so that PICT IEEE Student Branch was the largest of its kind in the world.

A Student Branch is a basic operating organizational unit of IEEE constituted by a minimum of twenty (20) IEEE Student members at a particular college university or technical
institute.There are more than 1,300 IEEE Student Branches at leading academic institutions worldwide In the past PICT has been the largest IEEEs student branch in the
world.Today it still remains amongst the top with over 850 members.From time to time there are many IEEE events held in the institute itself open for both PICT and IEEE
members from other colleges.And all the while they have proved to be a great success.
